One of the largest high-tech greenhouses in Greece, it is a state-of-the-art project for hydroponic tomato cultivation. The cultivation lasts all year round and can exceed a production of 70 kg \/ m2.<\/p>\n

\"\"In order to meet the thermal needs of the greenhouse, a CHP unit (Cogenaration of heat and power unit) unit was installed, with a total capacity of 4 MW. The CHP unit consumes natural gas and produces electricity and thermal energy through hot water. The hot water is stored in a buffer tank and transferred to the greenhouse according to its thermal needs.<\/p>\n

The flue gases emitted by the engines also feed the greenhouse for the plants fertilization.<\/p>\n
